Under general supervision assists with packaging, processing, underwriting, documenting, funding, and closing single family mortgage loans, consistent with bank guidelines and applicable lending regulations. Reviews loan documents for acceptability against loan conditions and, along with the Mortgage Loan Officer, coordinates with all parties to obtain additional documentation, when necessary. Analyzes the credit worthiness of applicants and prepares credit requests for approval. Coordinates the preparation of loan documents, internally, and coordinates closing and funding with the borrower and with the title company. Prepares and maintains loan files processes loans from application through closing. Issues proper disclosures as required by federal regulatory compliance and reviews underwriting and documentation for accuracy. Determines and assesses a borrower’s individual credit-worthiness for residential real estate loans. Ensures that pricing and fees are accurately reflected on each transaction and orders all necessary appraisals, title reports, and credit documents. Reviews loan-related documents, including title insurance, flood and tax certificates and surveys, and incorporates findings into underwriting. Oversees documentation of loan ensuring approval conditions are met, and coordinates closing and funding of the loan.Requirements:
Minimum 3 years of loan processing experience in a mortgage banking company or related financial institution. Minimum 3 years of experience working with FNMA/FHLMC guidelines and standard industry guidelines. Minimum 3 years of experience of state and federal lending regulations (e.g. Respa, Reg Z, Ecoa, State Fair Lending). Minimum of two years of experience in a position that required the incumbent to perform analysis of an individual’s credit worthiness, including but not limited to analysis of cash flow, financial statements, property valuations, and credit reports. Possess strong attention to detail and good organization skills in order to allow the incumbent the ability to perform tasks in an accurate and efficient manner. Outstanding verbal and written communication and customer service skills. Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of Bank personnel, customers, and outside agencies in both verbal and written form. Computer literate with experience using, Word and industry standard mortgage software, preferably Calyx.
